Maggie's weekend adventure with Jack

I am just back to Cauldeen after an incredibly busy weekend with Jack.  We had lots of fun together and I enjoyed sharing my adventure with the P1 class.

On Friday after school I went to Jack's granny's house and helped to move lots of logs for her.  It was hard work but afterwards, as a treat, we made a delicious chocolate cake.  My favourite part was licking the bowl clean!

On Saturday Jack's pet rabbit, Black Ears, had to be taken to the vet to have her teeth trimmed.  While I was there I tripped and hurt my paw.  Luckily the nice vet looked after me and put a bandage on my sore paw.

If you look carefully you can see my pink bandage under my seat belt.

Later on Saturday I helped Jack's uncle drive his digger.  He wanted me to dig a big hole.  It was really high up sitting in the driver's seat.

I also got to ride on a motorbike!  It was lots of fun and Jack held onto me really carefully so that I wouldn't fall off and hurt my other paw.

By Sunday I was glad to have a quiet day at home with Jack.  We sat and read his reading book.  It was an exciting story about dolphins and killer-whales.

Nessie Goes To The Library!

This week the students have been very busy writing essays and so I have been with them in the library.

Dundee University library is huge and has lots and lots of books and computers, I could get lost there for weeks. Perfect for a game of hide and seek!

The students taught me all about taking books out at the library.

1. Go to a library computer and search for the book you want to find.
2. Find the number your book is and go and find it on the shelves.
3. Take the book to a special scanner which reads the barcode and puts the book on your account.

You can check on the computer how many books you have out and when they need to be taken back so that other students can read the book too.

Now I can read as many books as I like!

Coco Helps Us Get Ready For Mothers' Day

This week Coco watered our daffodil bulbs which we are selling to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. We have also coloured in boxes and filled them with Nasturtium seeds wrapped in tissue paper. We will be selling all these flowers for presents for Mothers' Day, this Sunday. Coco has helped us to decorate a banner for our stall so it is bright and colourful for everyone to see! We hope our Mums enjoy their presents! Did your class make anything lovely for Mothers' Day?

Maggie's weekend adventure with Chloe

On Friday I left Cauldeen with Chloe and got to spend the weekend at her house.  We had lots of fun together and a really enjoyed being outside in the fresh air.

On Saturday I helped Chloe and her mum take their puppy Roxie for a walk.  Chloe made sure I was wrapped up nice and warm.  Later Chloe took me for a ride on her bike.  It was lots of fun, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

On Sunday I helped Chloe bake some fairy cakes.  We took them to her grandad's house to share them.  They were very tasty.  Yum yum.

Maggie Gardening!

This week I have been helping the P1 class get ready for spring.

                  Their planter needed to be weeded before any seeds could be planted.

It was hard work pulling out all the weeds but the children didn't seem to mind.

It was nice to be out in the sunshine.

Once we had pulled out all the weeds we then had to plant green manure.  Green manure helps prepare the soil, getting it ready for when we plant the little seeds.

My favourite part was using the watering can to water the soil.  I was careful not to get my paws wet!

WOW! Look at our planter now!

We need to wait 3 weeks and then we will be able to plant lots of yummy vegetables in our planter.  I wonder which vegetables the P1 children will want to plant?

Nessie visits Minie The Minx

This week I have been very busy exploring some more of Dundee!

I took a walk in to the centre of the city and walked through the Overgate Shopping Centre - it was full of people shopping. Next, I stopped at the statue of Minie The Minx, a famous character from The Beano comic. There was also a statue of Desperate Dan. The university students taught me that The Beano was first made a long time ago in Dundee by a company called D.C Thomson. Lots of tourists like to come to these statues and have their photo taken just like I did! 

Coco's adventures

This week we showed Coco the living machine in our classroom, he thought it was good. He also saw the Tiger Tank. In our tiger tank we have mud, water and some plants. We don't have any beasties in it yet.

It was a sunny day so we showed Coco our Sensory Garden. He loved the water fountain and even played chess and snakes and ladders out there! Do you have a garden in your school? After visiting the sensory garden Coco helped us check our coat pegs to see if they were tidy so our class can try to win the Golden Coat Peg award, here he is hanging up a jacket!

This week Coco came to lunch in our canteen. We let him have a little chocolate treat because he has been so good! What will he get up to next?!

Nessie's Trip To Dundee!

 

I arrived safely in Dundee and told the university students all about Inverness and the Loch Ness Monster!

I told them all about the primary one class I came from and how I had met Maggie before I left. I am missing them all already. I had a very busy first week helping the students with their homework and then met some primary six boys and girls from a Dundee school. They did a treasure hunt with me and we had to solve some riddles, do a dance and take lots of photos! I loved exploring the university with my new friends.

I can't wait to see what I am going to do next week!

Maggie's weekend adventure with Fergus

After school on Friday I went home with Fergus, from the P1 class.  He took very good care of me and we had lots of fun together.  I also got to play with his big brother Reuben.

I enjoyed bouncing and jumping on Fergus' new trampoline.  He held onto me very tight so that I wouldn't fall.

On Saturday I went bowling, which was lots of fun.  They even had special shoes in my size!

On Sunday I helped Fergus with his homework. 

I had such a fun weekend and I can't wait to get back to Cauldeen Primary and tell all the children about my busy weekend.

Maggie learns a new song

This week I have been busy learning a new song and a rhyme linked with the P1's topic Under the Sea.
I have been learning how to keep a steady beat. I found it hard at first, but the boys and girls kept me right. It was lots of fun singing and playing the different instruments.
